FAQ
Frequently asked questions
What is the Orizn Visa Checker Chrome extension?
Orizn is a free Chrome extension that shows visa requirements directly on flight booking sites like Google Flights, Kayak, Skyscanner, Kiwi, Trip.com, Booking.com and 30+ other travel sites. When you search a destination, a floating bar appears with your visa status (visa-free, visa on arrival, eVisa, or visa required) for your nationality.
Do I need a visa? How does the extension know?
Set your passport country once in the extension settings. Orizn detects the destination on the page you are browsing and matches it against our database of 199 nationalities and ~200 destinations to tell you instantly whether you need a visa, an eVisa, a visa on arrival, an ETA, or nothing at all.
Which flight booking sites does the extension support?
Google Flights, Kayak, Skyscanner, Kiwi.com, Trip.com, Booking.com, Expedia, Momondo, Cheapflights, Hopper, Aviasales, Wego, Hipmunk, Travala, Bravofly, Edreams, GoToGate, JetRadar, Lastminute.com, Opodo, OneTravel, Priceline, SmartFares, SmartWings, Travelocity, TUI, Vayama, Wizzair and several regional airlines โ 30+ sites total, with more added every week.
Is the Orizn Chrome extension really free?
Yes. The extension is 100% free and includes 10 visa checks per month at no cost. No credit card is required to install or use it. For unlimited checks, get a free API key from orizn.app/api and paste it into the extension settings.
What permissions does the extension require?
Orizn only requests access to the flight booking sites it supports so it can detect destinations and display the visa bar inline. It does NOT read your browsing history, cookies, passwords, or any other websites. The full permission scope is listed on the Chrome Web Store and in the privacy policy at orizn.app/privacy.
Does Orizn collect or sell my personal data?
No. Orizn does not sell data, ever. Your passport selection is stored locally in your browser. Destination lookups are sent to our visa API anonymously (no account, no email, no identifier). We do not run third-party trackers in the extension.
How accurate is the visa information?
Orizn aggregates data from official government sources (IATA Timatic, embassy and consulate publications, and IOM) and refreshes it weekly. We surface the source date directly in the extension so you can verify it. For high-stakes trips, always confirm with the destination embassy before flying.
Does it work on Brave, Edge, Arc, Opera, or other Chromium browsers?
Yes. Any Chromium-based browser that installs Chrome Web Store extensions works: Brave, Microsoft Edge, Arc, Opera, Vivaldi, and Chromium itself. A Safari version is on the roadmap.
Will the extension slow down Google Flights or Kayak?
No. The extension waits for the page to finish loading and only fires a single visa lookup per destination, cached locally for 24 hours. The floating bar is rendered with native CSS and adds well under 10ms to page interaction.
What is the difference between visa-free, visa on arrival, eVisa and ETA?
Visa-free means no visa is needed (within the stay limit). Visa on arrival (VoA) is issued at the border for a fee. An eVisa is applied for online before departure. An ETA (Electronic Travel Authorisation) is a lightweight pre-clearance like ESTA for the US or ETIAS for the EU. Orizn shows the exact type for every passport-destination pair.
Can I generate a travel guide from the extension?
Yes. Click 'Travel Guide' in the floating bar to generate a personalized guide for the destination including safety rating, budget tier, best months to visit, top neighborhoods, and embassy contact info. Guides are powered by the Orizn travel intelligence API.
How do I uninstall the Orizn Chrome extension?
Right-click the Orizn icon in your Chrome toolbar and choose 'Remove from Chrome', or open chrome://extensions, find Orizn, and click Remove. Your passport setting is stored locally and is deleted with the extension.
